Buying a vintage typewriter is an investment. Owning one is a privilege & joy. I've created a workshop with everything you need to know about getting started with vintage typewriters + gaining a solid understanding on how to use and care for them. All for the price of lunch with a friend!
WHAT'S IN VINTAGE TYPEWRITERS 101?
My husband and I started a typewriter business in August 2018, and since then we've had hundreds of emails and messages with questions regarding vintage typewriters. Whether someone is just starting their search and they don't know where to start...to the person who purchased a vintage typewriter and it wasn't what they expected. Or, a lucky person inherited a gem of a typewriter from a grandparent and they're not quite sure how to use it. We've also had those emails from folks who thought they were buying a working typewriter online (from another seller) but when it arrived, we're disappointed to find it not working and they didn't know what to do.
With all these questions arriving in my inbox regularly, I finally decided it was time to assemble a workshop with everything I wish I had known before (and after!) I purchased my first typewriter—and even what I wish I'd known when searching for just the right one.
And then I took it a step further.
Wanting to create a workshop that was PACKED with value and very useful in practicality, I added topics such as:
The best part?
The workshop is a one-time purchase price (for the cost of a lunch date!), and you will have LIFETIME ACCESS!!
Typewriter Valuation Table
Typewriter owners are always wondering the value of their typewriter or the value of one they are looking to purchase. Included in this workshop is a Typewriter Valuation Table that I update twice a year and constantly adding to it. It breaks down the value range of a typewriter within four different categories.
Typewriter Maintenance Tips
Our best tips to keep your vintage typewriter in good, working condition.
The Best Machine For You
I often receive the question, "What is the best typewriter for (fill in the blank)?" The workshop includes videos and photos of multiple models of vintage typewriters and who/what they are best suited for.
Our Customers Love The Value We Give Them!
Laura was super helpful and I absolutely LOVE my hand-painted typewriter by her!!! I especially love that she added her signature to the piece :) I've waited a long time to buy my first typewriter and this one had my name all over it. Everything about my experience with this shop has been amazing.

Without a doubt, the thing that convinced me to buy from Jot & Tittle was the tutorial and typing demo videos. Seeing the machine in use and having everything explained so well made me feel confident that the typewriter I was buying was in good working condition and that I would actually be able to use it.

Vintage Typewriters Are An Investment, and You Want To Make Sure You Are Equipped To Make Informed Buying Decisions.
I understand the frustration of how one has to spend hours and days searching for relevant information or not know what questions to ask when it comes to finding a quality vintage typewriter. Ultimately, I wanted a resource to offer those who have buying questions, frustrations from getting burned on a purchase, or how to get started with the typewriter found in a garage or attic. I've compiled all the basics of shopping for, using, and caring for vintage typewriters into ONE place to save you hours and hours of searching. The end result is 23 lessons and a 70-page workbook!
So why is it only $44? The vintage typewriter community is very close and special and I think of everyone in the typewriter world as a friend. So, the idea of Over Lunch Workshops was born. It's a friendly lunch date where I share with you my advice from 7 years of personal experience repairing and selling vintage typewriters. Is my time, experience, and the amount of content in this workshop worth more? UM...HECK, YEA!
But, we're friends here in the typosphere, so if you're willing to buy me lunch, I'm willing to share with you—in one handy place—some very helpful, useful, and relevant information and tools to make your vintage typewriter experience the best it can be.
p.s. this workshop would be a SUPER DUPER GIFT for your friends or loved oneS with typewriters (or interested in typewriters). Just saying.

Owner, JOT & TITTLE VINTAGE TYPEWRITERS
Along with my husband, Rob, I started Jot & Tittle Vintage Typewriters in August of 2018...and quite by accident. Desiring to focus my time on writing—and wanting to step away from the computer—I wondered if typewriters were still around. In high school, I took a mandatory typing class with a cool red IBM Selectric, but had not touched (or seen!) a typewriter since the 80s. We found one for a few dollars, and being an entrepreneur at heart, I wondered if we could fix it up and sell it. To make a long story short, we made mistakes, had to hunt down a proper typewriter repair person to fix said mistakes, fell in love with typewriters, and decided we'd like to try reselling vintage typewriters—simply for fun.
What we didn't expect was an overwhelming response. By the end of 2018, we had sold over 100 typewriters! Since then, we've sold over 2500 vintage typewriters, have an active and engaging community in my Saturday morning newsletter, and a YouTube channel with nearly 600k views on my Typewriter Tutorial videos.
